Experience/Education
My experience working in both inpatient and outpatient settings allowed for the development of a wide-range of clinical skills. I value transparency, mutual trust, and humor in my work with others. Therapy can be fraught with intense, vulnerable emotions, but there is nothing wrong with sharing a laugh together in the therapy room from time to time.
I received my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Maryland. I received specialized clinical training working with children, adolescents, and families throughout my educational experience. I have also worked in the following settings:
-
community outpatient mental health clinic
-
child advocacy center
-
inpatient mental health hospital
-
domestic violence shelter and services
-
interpersonal violence prevention program
-
public school systems
